Undead is Unwatchable!!!!

Wow, all i have to say is thank god for NETFLIX because if I had actually bought this pile of horse oughie chunks, I would have to kick my own ass. I've watched my own share of B-movie garbage but this was just too bad to watch through to the end. I am fully aware and have seen enough zombie movies to know and understand having an original premise for a zombie movie is a little bit hard to come by, but copying the basic ideas from two other movies and combining them in to one movie just won't cut it in my opinion. First off, the story development was was somewhat choppy. there wasn't enough time for character development so I didn't care about any one enough to root for them.
I also had a HUGE problem with the feats of heroism. What I mean to say is that although the heroic feats performed by most characters in these types of movies are pretty unbelievable but have a very small amount of probability in a warped sense of way. I mean you can not split a zombie down the middle from the top of his head al the way down with an auto club steering wheel lock!!!
Also, the special effects were just plain sloppy. It seems like they had enough of a budget and technical ability to make good gore FX, it was just done in a sloppy fashion. I mean I'm just not a fan of digital special effects, but if done properly, they can be effective. Im more of a fan of the Tom Savini old school of horror. i mean the work that he has done on Dawn of the Dead among others is considered ground breaking.
Oh well I guess it's too much to ask for a at least one choice of either good story, original plot, or good special effects. Undead gives you nothing, except probably gas.

Journey to the center of stoopid!!!

Ok, today is a review of the movie "Journey to the center of the earth" in 3-D and let me tell you the 3-D part is Wayyy over rated. I tried to watch this movie in 3-D using the 3_d glasses that were provided with the DVD. I was just disappointed first off buy the fact that it seems that the 3-d technology for home viewing has not progress at all. I can remember years ago when i was young, channel 11 had a special 3-D movie that the showed. It was "The Creature From The Black Lagoon" in 3-D. What you would do is go to 7-11 and get your 3-D glasses (I can't remember if they were free or not but I remember getting a pair) and then you would watch the movie. Now mind you, "The Creature From The Black Lagoon" was a black and white movie and they just added the stereoscopic 3-D effect to it and I remember enjoying it. fast forward to today and guess what, they used the SAME 3-D effect which is a pair of cardboard glasses with one eye thats red and the other eye which is green. NOTHING HAS CHANGED!! I started to watch JTTCOTE (Journey to the center of the earth for short) and it was really difficult to watch the movie with the glasses, and I don't feel that they did such a great job on the stereoscopic effect of the movie. after the first 10 minutes of the movie I just decided to flip the DVD over and watch the rest of the movie in regular old 2-D. I can tell you that the move unfortunately didn't get any better. I like Brendan Fraser, but this movie was really disappointing. I don't want to give away anything but when you have an animal guiding you through out the adventure like it was Lassie, it's time to call it a day.

I warned you!

Ok, now im being serious about this....

Its been ages since I've "blogged" but now I'm committing myself to doing it every day. So the first movie I'm going to talk about is the new James Bond move "Summer of solstice" or, "Quantum Of Solace"

Ok, first off...I really enjoyed this film. I mean the James Bond styling and slickness is still as strong as ever. I think that Daniel Craig has proven himself to be a good james bond, but one thing he lacks is the "Bond smugness". But thats good for Daniel Craig as it lets him develop his own version of the character But i've been noticing a departure from the cool gadgets that were a staple of earlier bond films. where was "Q" and his cool inventions like edible socks or Laser guided Ping-Pong balls. you know what i mean!

Still the action was great and plenty of it, and I'm starting to really like the small running gag of how every time he's sent to capture or question a suspicious person, he usually ends up killing that person and it pisses "M" off.

As far as the story is concerned, if you got a little lost, don't worry, so did I and a few other people i spoke to about the film. They need to simplify the plots a little bit, not dumb down because it's not like the audience won't get it. But lets face it, you have a very action packed film and tons of important dialogue going on at the same time, it's easy to miss an important line being spoken, and some times that line that you missed could be key to what happened in the last scene or what will happen in the next one.

Now on to the most important part of this edition of the 007 series (and every 007 movie before it)
WHAT WAS UP WITH THE NEW BOND GIRL!!!
I'm sorry but I was really disappointed with this one. She seemed pretty skanky in my opinion. and she didn't really contribute anything to this move. Now compared to Eva Green who played Vesper Lynd in casino royale, there is no comparison!! Eva Green was incredibly beautiful and sultry and she had some fantastic curves.

Anyway this is just my take on the movie, but I do suggest that you go see it, definitely worth it!

My curent top three favorites...

My three favorite movies, not an easy question for me to answer but I'll try.
My favorite movie is easy. the next two choices tend to fluctuate.

#1) Aliens
My all time favorite!
This Movie had set the bar for the quality of future movie sequels. Before aliens (and even right now) sequels were made, treated, and seen as just empty copies of their previous film. with some kind of stupid premise as to why the sequel should exist in the first place. Aliens is not only a great film, it's better than it's predecessor! This film has it all; suspense, horror, science fiction, action, light humor. It definitely justifies viewing with full surround sound and the volume cranked up so you can really hear those pulse riffles tear through those Alien carcasses!

#2) (Currently) Scarface
Tony Montana depicted in a very violent manner as the ultimate rags to riches story. not too much of an action flick but it has it's moments. It's just a good story with great quotable dialogue. Scarface tries to show that anyone can become a success, although the type of success and at what cost are up to you as a person. As well as the people you may cross and step on while climbing that ladder of success.

#3) (newly add to this slot) Juno
What words can I use to describe this movie but charming and refreshing. I'll admit that I wouldn't normally see this movie on my own volition, but I saw it with friends and ended up really enjoying it. It was a light hearted drama full of nice sharp humor and quick wit. It definitely didn't go the way of an extended after-school special about teenage pregnancy, but it did have a very "indie-esque" quality which kept it grounded and seem more genuine. Ellen Page is really remarkable and I'm curious to see how she develops as an actress.

I AM LEGEND... YOU ARE HISTORY!

Let me just start by saying that this movie was a major dissapointment.

I only read the first few chapters of the book, but even that was far better than this film. I was expecting a lot more from this film. This was touted to be an action packed horror film. "Bring it on" was scarier that this flick! I really blame Warner Bros. Pictures! You can only go so far with a PG-13 rating. I wish they would have had the sense to put the balls to the wall and go make the scary, gory, action-packed movie that I AM LEGEND could have been. Even if the horror will prevent the PG-13 rating you're locked into, you can still go further with the action aspect. For example The X-MEN Trilogy, The Mummy, The Spiderman Trilogy; they were all PG-13, but good movies! Pleany of action and some thrills. I really had high hopes for I AM LEGEND!

Warner Bros. Pictures...YOU OWE ME $24.00!!!!

Get away from her you BITCH!!!!!

What better way to start this movie review site that with my favorite flick of all times:

"After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley's shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. Her account of the alien and the fate of her crew are received with skepticism since the planet where Ripley first encountered the alien was colonized over twenty years earlier and no evidence was found to support her story. The Company declares her psychologically unfit and revokes her flight officer's license.
Soon after, the colonists mysteriously disappear and Ripley may be forced to return to the planet where her nightmares began. Determined to face her fears and exterminate the deadly creatures, she accompanies a team of high-tech colonial marines and a Company representative to investigate."
