My three favorite movies, not an easy question for me to answer but I'll try.
My favorite movie is easy. the next two choices tend to fluctuate.
#1) Aliens
My all time favorite!
This Movie had set the bar for the quality of future movie sequels. Before aliens (and even right now) sequels were made, treated, and seen as just empty copies of their previous film. with some kind of stupid premise as to why the sequel should exist in the first place. Aliens is not only a great film, it's better than it's predecessor! This film has it all; suspense, horror, science fiction, action, light humor. It definitely justifies viewing with full surround sound and the volume cranked up so you can really hear those pulse riffles tear through those Alien carcasses!
#2) (Currently) Scarface
Tony Montana depicted in a very violent manner as the ultimate rags to riches story. not too much of an action flick but it has it's moments. It's just a good story with great quotable dialogue. Scarface tries to show that anyone can become a success, although the type of success and at what cost are up to you as a person. As well as the people you may cross and step on while climbing that ladder of success.
#3) (newly add to this slot) Juno
What words can I use to describe this movie but charming and refreshing. I'll admit that I wouldn't normally see this movie on my own volition, but I saw it with friends and ended up really enjoying it. It was a light hearted drama full of nice sharp humor and quick wit. It definitely didn't go the way of an extended after-school special about teenage pregnancy, but it did have a very "indie-esque" quality which kept it grounded and seem more genuine. Ellen Page is really remarkable and I'm curious to see how she develops as an actress.
